Product description
Nasodren® is an aqueous solution made from a natural extract of fresh tubers of the plant Cyclamen europaeum L. No other ingredients or preservatives are added to the product.
Pack contents and composition
- One vial containing 50 mg of lyophilized extract of Cyclamen europaeum L.
- One ampoule containing 5 ml of water to dissolve the lyophilisate.
- One spray nozzle.
Before using Nasodren®
- If you are taking anticoagulants or anticholinergics, do not use Nasodren® without your doctor’s consent.
- Do not use Nasodren® if you are allergic or hypersensitive to Cyclamen, Primula or other Primulaceae.
- Nasodren® can be used by adults and children aged 12 years and older. Use in children must be supervised.
- Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice if you are taking prescription medicines.
- If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice. Nasodren® should not be used during pregnancy or breast-feeding unless recommended by your doctor.
How often and how long to use it
- Spray once per day into each nostril, preferably at the same time each day and approximately two hours before bed.
- Using it more than once per day does not improve performance and should be avoided.
- Use for 7-10 days. This may be extended to 14 days if necessary.
- Do not use Nasodren® for more than 10-14 days.
- If another course is needed, wait another 7-10 days before using the product again.
- If you miss one or more days, continue for one or two additional days. Do not use more than once per day to make up for a missed day.
- If you stop sooner than recommended, the expected results might not be achieved.
- If you use another nasal product, leave a gap of at least two hours between products.
How to prepare the solution
- Open the vial containing the powder by turning the cap anti-clockwise and removing the stopper.
- Open the plastic bottle containing the water by breaking off the upper part.
- Pour all the water into the vial containing the powder.
- Screw the spray nozzle onto the vial and shake gently until fully dissolved. Wait until no foam is visible.
- Remove the protective cap from the spray nozzle.
- Before first use, press the spray nozzle two or three times into the air, aiming away from the body and avoiding the eyes.
How to spray Nasodren®
- Hold your head vertically without leaning forwards or backwards. Insert the nozzle into the right nostril. Breathe in deeply, hold your breath for 3-5 seconds and press the nozzle once. Breathe out deeply through the mouth and then breathe normally. Do not breathe in while spraying.
- Repeat the same procedure in the left nostril.
- Clean the spray nozzle with a clean paper tissue and replace the protective cap.
Important information
- Contact a doctor if your symptoms do not improve after 10 days or worsen after 5 days.
- Contact your doctor or pharmacist if a side effect occurs or something unexpected happens that is not listed in the Instructions for Use.
- It is recommended that you do not drive or use machines for two hours after using the spray.
- Do not inhale or breathe in during spraying, as this can make the expected effects more intense and last longer.
- Report any serious incident related to the product to the manufacturer and the competent authority where the user or patient is established.
A brief, mild and temporary itching or burning sensation, sneezing, tearing and increased nasal secretions may occur a few minutes after use. A pinkish nasal discharge may also occur. These are expected responses described in the Instructions for Use.
Remove the product from the refrigerator two or three minutes before use to reduce the intensity of these effects. Return it to the refrigerator immediately after use.
Accidental overuse
If the product is accidentally overused or sprayed repeatedly, rinsing or irrigating the nasal cavity with warm water and gargling with warm water may be useful.
Storage and disposal
- Keep out of the reach and sight of children.
- Protect the original package from light and store below 25°C.
- After preparation, store Nasodren® in a refrigerator at 2-8°C and protect it from light.
- Do not use after the expiry date printed on the carton, powder vial and water bottle.
- Do not use the prepared solution for more than 14 days.
- Dispose of the product as urban waste.
